Awareness raising for students from schools in the Vale de Alcantara, in Lisbon that many are athletes in different clubs, professionals and grassrots. In this awareness-raising action we used the internal resources of Sporting Clube de Portugal, as well as the athletes from Sporting Clube de Portugal.

RedEmprega do Vale de Alcântara is an employability network that seeks to increase the access to responses that promote employability and economic inclusion. Keeping in mind that many of the students from Vale de Alcântara are athletes in different clubs, professionals and grassrots, one of the areas of greatest interest is sports. Within the scope of the European Days of Care, Sporting Foundation had organized a Career Day, where we showed the professions that exist in the context of sport, for the Young People of Vale de Alcântara. On that monday our guests arrived around 10 am and were divided into two teams in order to promote proximity to the speakers. The groups went through the different spaces and got to know the professions that coexist in sport. In a morning of animation and learning, the guests passed by the auditorium Artur Agostinho, where they met professionals from different areas, namely: Human resources, Psychology, Museum and Training. Here was presented the diferent professions that exist in a sports club and its importance for the functioning of sport, as well as the professional career of athletes, strategies for reconciling sport with school and life, and difficulties and opportunities from Dual Career.
On the other side of the stadium, the students took a guided tour of Pavilhão João Rocha.
The João Rocha Pavilion is the place where collective sports training and games take place, namely: Futsal, Roller Hockey, Goalball, Handball, Basketball and Volleyball. Here, they were welcomed by professionals from different areas who shared their professional career and explained what professions were working at all times and what is behind training and sports competitions.
After visiting the Pavilion, the guests went on a guided tour of the Multisport Pavilion. Multisport Pavilion is the place for all other sports, namely: Archery, Gymnastics, Swimming, Combat Sports, Water Polo, Table Tennis, among many others. In the Multisport Pavilion they were received by the Director of the Multisport Pavilion, where they visited the different rooms of the different modalities, offices, therapeutic rooms, physiotherapy offices, etc. In each of the rooms that the guests visited, they had the opportunity to talk with the professionals inherent to each area, as well as with the athletes of each modality.
This experience was very rewarding for everyone: both for the invited athletes, as well as for the guests who are not athletes, or for the professionals and athletes of Sporting Clube de Portugal who organized this morning and shared their life experiences. 4For our athletes, it was a moment of personal and professional appreciation, due to the recognition of their trajectory and their achievements (whether in sports, school or professional).
