The third day of the mobility exchange in Piraeus Greece, taken place last 22nd February, started with a tour of the Municipal Theater of Piraeus, which involved a meet and greet with the Vice Mayor of Piraeus. The project coordinators also continued with their discussions on the overall experience and best practices to be recorded in the mobility exchange handbook at the end of the project.
Thereafter, the delegates visited the first Olympic Stadium, Panathenaic Stadium. The walk around the stadium, built entirely in marble, is an incredible experience. The first modern Olympic games were held here in 1896 but the history of the stadium extends back many centuries before and it is amazing to know that you are walking in the footsteps of great athletes.
In the evening, the delegates attended the LEN Championship League water polo game between Olympiacos S.F.P and CNA Barceloneta. The extensive and vocal fan base of Olympiacos S.F.P created for a festive atmosphere and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
A final dinner with all the delegates was held in the evening, allowing for the team building and networking amongst the club delegates to continue, strengthening ties between the clubs and countries.
A special thank you is extended to Olympiacos for hosting an excellent event in Athens and for their amazing hospitality. We look forward to the 4th and final mobility exchange experience in Sofia, Bulgaria, in May 2020.
